Location-specific Hindu festival dates and observance timings for major cities around the world — computed from local sunrise and timezone, not IST conversion.
Hindu festival dates follow the Panchang — a location-dependent calendar. A tithi (lunar day) begins and ends at a precise astronomical instant, but which civil date you observe depends on whether that tithi is active at your local sunrise (or at local sunset for some evening festivals).
Converting an India timetable to another timezone does not work: sunrise in New York is not Delhi minus 10.5 hours as a calendar rule. Timezone and daylight saving change how absolute tithi boundaries map onto local clock time — and can move the observance to an adjacent Gregorian day.
This index evaluates Panchang conditions at each city's coordinates. When every city shares Delhi's date, we show that. When Sydney or Los Angeles shifts by a day, we show that too.
Calculated using Daanyam's stated Panchang convention: Smarta purnimanta month labels, tithi sampled at local sunrise (Pradosh festivals use local sunset). India anchor dates use Delhi coordinates (28.6139°N, 77.209°E). Diaspora cities use catalog coordinates and IANA timezones including daylight saving where applicable.
