Significance of Karva Chauth
Karva Chauth (कर्क चतुर्थी, also Karak Chaturthi) is observed on the fourth day (Chaturthi) of the dark fortnight (Krishna Paksha) of Kartika month — typically four days after Sharad Purnima. It is among the most widely observed women's vrats in North India, particularly Punjab, Haryana, Delhi, Uttar Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh, and Rajasthan, where married women (suhagans) fast from sunrise until moonrise for the long life, prosperity, and well-being of their husbands.
