This is Daanyam's English reference for sidereal Jyotish. A Vedic birth chart, the Moon, and Vimshottari periods belong in one reading, and every calculator linked here uses the Lahiri ayanamsa. Open a live tool when you want the chart for your own birth details.
Definition
A Vedic birth chart, also called a Kundli or Janam Kundali, is a map of the sidereal sky at birth. The Moon's sign and nakshatra set the starting point of Vimshottari Dasha, the timing system that divides life into planetary periods. This directory connects those ideas to calculators that already run on Daanyam.
How this directory is organized
Start with what Vedic astrology is, then how it differs from Western astrology, then the sidereal zero point. Lagna is the rising sign. The Vedic Moon sign is Chandra rashi. Rashis, houses, and the nine grahas are the chart's grammar. Nakshatras are the 27 birth stars. Vimshottari Dasha is the timing system that starts from the Moon's nakshatra. Vedic compatibility compares two charts. Career from a chart explains the 10th house, the 6th house, and the current dasha. Marriage timing explains a season, not a date. The birth-chart page is the doorway into a personal chart. Sun, Moon, and Rising is the sidereal Big Three. Dasha is the timing layer. The astrology calculators list is the full set of live engines.

A common confusion
A Western tropical sign can differ from the Vedic sign for the same birth. Daanyam computes sidereal positions with the Lahiri ayanamsa and does not produce a tropical chart. If a result disagrees with a Western app, the two zodiacs are the reason, not a second birth time.
How the numbers are computed
Chart and Dasha results on the linked tools come from Daanyam's sidereal engine. The ayanamsa, ephemeris, and what the engine does not compute are written up separately.
Questions
- What is this directory?
- It is Daanyam's English map of sidereal Jyotish. It shows how a Vedic birth chart, the Moon, and Vimshottari timing belong together, and it links only to calculators that already compute them.
- Does Kundli mean birth chart?
- Yes. Kundli, also called Janam Kundali, is the name for a Vedic birth chart. It uses the sidereal zodiac. A tropical Western chart can give different sign names for the same birth.
- Where is a Vedic chart calculated?
- Open the Vedic birth chart page to start the free explainer, or use Sun, Moon, and Rising for the sidereal Big Three. Both use Daanyam's Lahiri engine. The method is on How we compute.
