Definition
Chandra rashi is the rashi that holds the Moon. Sade Sati asks which sign that is, then watches Saturn move through the previous sign, that sign, and the next one. Two people with the same Sun sign and different Moon signs are not in the same Sade Sati. Two people with the same Moon sign share the same sign map, and still need their own dates, because Saturn's ingress is a sky fact and the birth only chooses the Moon sign.

A common confusion
Matching a Western Sun sign to a Sade Sati article for that sign answers a different question. Sade Sati follows the sidereal Moon. The sign names on the India spokes are Moon signs, not Sun signs.
