Read a Sade Sati result in order. First, whether the transit is on. Second, the phase: Rising, Peak, or Setting. Third, the end date. Stop there. The result does not say Saturn Mahadasha is running, it does not name a remedy, and it does not score the chart. This page is that order. The Sade Sati tool calculates the result.
Definition
The tool's job is a dated phase. The guide's job is what those words do and do not mean. An active phase means Saturn is in one of the three signs counted from the natal Moon. An end date is the end of the current phase or the transit, as the tool labels it. Neither line is a prediction of a job, a marriage, or a medical outcome. Dhaiya, when the same birth shows it, is a shorter Saturn transit and is not a fourth Sade Sati phase.
How it works
If the tool says the transit is not active, Saturn is not in the sign before the Moon, the Moon's sign, or the sign after it. That is the whole claim.
If a phase is named, use the phases guide for the sign it refers to. Do not translate Rising into a Mahadasha.
The golden fixture used on this page has a Moon sign and a birth Mahadasha lord. It does not have a Sade Sati result. The example is not a sample reading of Saturn.
Reference
What to do with each line of a result.
| Line on the result | What it is |
|---|---|
| Active or not | Whether Saturn is in the three signs counted from the natal Moon. |
| Phase | Rising, Peak, or Setting. See the phases guide. Not a Mahadasha. |
| End date | A date from the tool. Not a date this page invents for the sample birth. |
| Not on the result | Saturn Mahadasha, a remedy, or a combined score with Vimshottari. |
Worked example
The block below is the published birth, not a Sade Sati printout. Rahu as the birth Mahadasha lord does not mean Saturn was transiting that Moon sign. Do not read a phase into it.
| Birth | Male, born 12 Aug 1995, 14:30 IST, Delhi |
|---|---|
| Date | 1995-08-12 |
| Time | 14:30 |
| Timezone | Asia/Kolkata |
| Lagna | Vrishchika (sidereal Scorpio) |
| Moon sign | Kumbha (sidereal Aquarius) |
| Moon nakshatra | Shatabhisha |
| Birth Mahadasha lord | Rahu |
| Lahiri ayanamsa | 23.798597° |
A common confusion
A fearful reading of the phase name is not part of the result. The result is a sign comparison and a date. Saturn Mahadasha remains a separate page and a separate tool path.
Calculate it
Open the Sade Sati tool when you want the phase and the end date for a birth. This guide does not embed a form.
How the numbers are computed
The tool and this reading order use the same Lahiri Moon sign and the same Saturn ephemeris. The method page records both.
Questions
How do I read a Sade Sati result?
Note whether it is active, which of Rising, Peak, or Setting is named, and the end date. It does not assign Saturn Mahadasha, a remedy, or a score.
Does an active phase mean Saturn Mahadasha?
No. Check the Dasha calculator for the Mahadasha. The comparison of the two clocks is on Dasha and transits.
Why doesn't the example show a phase?
The published golden stores the Moon sign and the birth Mahadasha lord. It does not store a Sade Sati phase. This page does not invent one.
