Significance of Tulsi Vivah
Tulsi Vivah (तुलसी विवाह) is the ceremonial marriage of the sacred Tulsi plant (Holy Basil, Ocimum sanctum) to Lord Vishnu — performed on the Dwadashi (twelfth tithi) of the bright fortnight of Kartik month, the day after Devuthani Ekadashi. Across India, this ritual marriage is treated as the first wedding of the new season, and the unofficial beginning of the household wedding calendar after the four-month Chaturmas pause.
