Significance of Devuthani Ekadashi
Devuthani Ekadashi (देवउठनी एकादशी, also Prabodhini Ekadashi or Devotthana Ekadashi) is observed on the eleventh day (Ekadashi) of the bright fortnight (Shukla Paksha) of Kartik month — exactly four months after Devshayani Ekadashi. It marks the moment Lord Vishnu wakes from his cosmic yoga nidra. Across India, this is the day Chaturmas ends and the auspicious season returns: weddings, griha pravesh, vehicle-purchase muhurats, mundan, and all other shubh karmas resume. Tulsi Vivah — the ceremonial marriage of Tulsi (Vrinda) to Lord Vishnu (or his shaligram form) — is performed on this day or on the following Dwadashi.
