Significance of Apara Ekadashi
Apara Ekadashi (also called Achala Ekadashi or Bhadrakali Ekadashi) is observed on the eleventh day (Ekadashi) of the dark fortnight (Krishna Paksha) of Jyeshtha month. The name Apara means "limitless" or "boundless" — referring to the unending merit (apara-punya) said to be earned by observing this vrat, which the Brahma-Vaivarta Purana lists among the most powerful ekadashis for the dissolution of accumulated paap (sins).
