Vancouver proper keeps a smaller Hindu institutional footprint than its suburbs: ISKCON is over the boundary in Burnaby, the big mandirs are across the Fraser in Surrey and Richmond, and the Punjabi Market on Main Street is a quieter place than it was in the 1980s. The practical difficulty at this latitude is daylight, not doctrine. In late June the sun sets after 9:15pm PDT, so evening aarti and the night Choghadiya run far later than any Indian table implies; in December sunrise is after 8am and Brahma Muhurat lands around 6:30am — a working-morning hour, not a pre-dawn one.

Pacific Time with DST. At 49°N, June sunsets pass 9pm PDT; December sunrise is after 8am. Seattle is the same zone but not the same sunrise.
