Chhath Puja 2026 in Melbourne — sandhya & usha arghya

Hindu festival dates follow the tithi at local sunrise, not a fixed Gregorian date and not a simple IST conversion. Melbourne sits in a different timezone from India, and sunrise happens at a different longitude — so the same Kartika tithi can name a different civil morning. Muhurat windows (Pradosh Kaal, Aparahna, moonrise, Arghya) are always recomputed from this place's coordinates.

Stand at a clean water body (or a tray of water at home) for Sandhya Arghya at local sunset, then Usha Arghya at the next local sunrise. Thekua and seasonal fruits are the usual prasad. Keep the fast until Usha Arghya if your family observes the full vrat.
