Bhai Dooj 2026 in Melbourne — aparahna tilak

Hindu festival dates follow the tithi at local sunrise, not a fixed Gregorian date and not a simple IST conversion. Melbourne sits in a different timezone from India, and sunrise happens at a different longitude — so the same Kartika tithi can name a different civil morning. Muhurat windows (Pradosh Kaal, Aparahna, moonrise, Arghya) are always recomputed from this place's coordinates.

Sisters apply tilak to brothers in the Aparahna window and offer a simple meal or sweets. If siblings are in different cities, each household follows its own local Aparahna — not a shared IST slot.
